Barry Swan - Partner
Barry is the senior and founding partner at Barossa Accounting and Tax Services. A Chartered Accountant and Registered Company Auditor with over 30 years experience, Barry’s particular areas of interest and expertise lie in audit, rural industry clientiele and small service based business. He is an import to the Barossa, having been born in Port Pirie, however after 30 years here is at least part way toward being termed a local. He is also an avid guitar and banjo player, and likes getting outback or over to Wallaroo anytime he can.
Dean Hoklas - Partner
Dean began working at the practice in 1985, and joined the practice as a partner in 1996. Dean has a keen interest in the wine industry, having a small vineyard and winery interest of his own. Dean is a Fellow of the National Institute of Accountants, and his expertise is in providing accounting , taxation and consulting services to business in the vineyard and wine industry. A fifth generation Barossan, Dean enjoys good wine and is a mad Central Districts and Tanunda Football club supporter.
Nick Schuster - Partner
Nick commenced working at the practice in 2004 after moving to the Barossa from Broken Hill, and joined the practice as a partner in 2008. Nick is a Certified Practicing Accountant with interests in winemaking and hospitality clients, financial markets, self managed superannuation and farm businesses. Nick has degrees in accountancy, financial planning and applied finance. Nick is also an authorised representative of Merit Wealth and handles the financial planning aspect of Barossa Accounting and Tax.
Angela Sonntag - Senior Associate
Angela has over 27 years experience working in public practice, 22 years at Barossa Accounting and Tax. She completed a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) in 1996. On her graduation she received an award for the most outstanding graduate for this degree. Angela also received an award for best result in taxation law. After having a break to raise her family, Angela returned to study in 2006 and obtained her Chartered Accountant status in 2008. Her pastimes include doing crosswords and sudukos, playing tennis, fishing and spending time with her family.
Jonathon Gerhardy - Accountant
Jonathon joined the practice in 2003 and received a Bachelor of Commerce from UniSA. He is also a Chartered Accountant having received this status in 2008. Jonathon interests include football, cricket and basketball, and an interest in financial markets.
Jordan Krzoska - Accountant
Jordan joined Barossa Tax and Accounting in 2006 and received Bacholar of Business (Accounting) from Charles Sturt University in 2007. Jordan completed his CPA accreditation studies in 2010. His interests include cricket and hockey.
John Ibrahim- Accountant
John joined the practice in 2011 after receiving a Bachelor of Commerce from UniSA. He will begin his Chartered Accountant studies in 2012. He enjoys cricket and soccer and is a passionate Adelaide United supporter.
Trish Helbig - Bookkeeper
Trish began at Barossa Accounting and Tax in 1982 and is responsible for data entry and processing of many clients records, and also provides some onsite assistance to clients. When not working, Trish is running around after her kids and has a keen interest in the local netball community.
Heather Swan - Practice Administrator
Heather joined Barossa Accounting and Tax in 1982 as a receptionist and has since evolved in her role to being the practice administrator. Her interests include gardening, volunteer work and her family.
Hayley Potter - Receptionist
Hayley commenced working at the Practice in February 2011 after moving to the Barossa from Adelaide in 2010. Hayley has worked in the Customer Service, Real Estate & Accounting Industry & has also studied Frontline Management, Real Estate Sales, and most recently her new interest "Wine Appreciation". When she is not working she is chasing after her Children and enjoys socializing or renovating the house.
Cheryl Fewster - Administration Support
Cheryl started at the practice in 2006 as part time administration assistant, and is responsible for keeping client records organized. Her interests include gardening, knitting and grandparenting duties.
